Who are we?

Dutch Family & Business Office is a trade name of Van de Meeberg Meijer & Bergman BV and its core activities are advising and supporting Financial Advice, Wealth Advice, Inheritance Advice, Accountancy and Tax Advice. Why this statement?

We are responsible for protecting your personal data as much as possible. In doing so, we must comply with the requirements of the privacy regulations. Among other things, we want to be transparent about the types of data we process, the purposes for which we process data, with whom we share data and what rights you have regarding your own data. In this Privacy Statement, we inform you about this. We process your personal data in accordance with the Dutch Personal Data Protection Act (Wbp).

We have reported the processing of personal data of our business relations to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (CBP). This notification has been registered under notification number M00002558. You can consult the notification register at www.cbpweb.nl.

Wherever we write or refer to "your data", we naturally mean the data of your relatives etc., unless expressly stated otherwise. unless expressly stated otherwise.

Types of data

We process (potentially) the following personal data from you:

  • contact details, such as name, address, place of residence, telephone number and e-mail address;
  • Age, sex, marital status;
  • Data relating to passport, driving licence or other proof of identity (sometimes we ask for a copy of an identity document);
  •    Data on employment, income, occupation and employer;
  •    Data on financial situation, assets, and any debts;
  •    data on current financial products, such as bank accounts or insurance policies;
  •    special personal data, e.g. health (in some cases);
  •    data on any criminal offences, fraud aspects (if relevant);
    data on submitted claims/claims history.

The above data is not applicable in all cases. We process only those data which are necessary in order to give proper advice.

When we process health or criminal data, we do so with great care, and usually only with your consent.

Purposes of data processing

We process your personal data for the purposes of the following activities in our company, among others:

  • Assessing and accepting potential customers;
  •    Managing our relationship with (potential) customers;
  •   The conclusion and execution of agreements;
  •   Carrying out (targeted) marketing and promotional activities in order to establish, maintain or expand a relationship with a (potential) customer;
  •   Meeting legal obligations;
  •   Managing and expanding our customer base;
  •   sending of newsletters or information of a specific nature.

We process the personal data of your and your family members exclusively for the purpose of executing a contract. For income and pension insurance, we may approach the employee around the retirement date to offer our services regarding the conversion of the pension capital into a pension benefit. We will never use your employees' personal data for marketing purposes or other promotional activities.

Legal grounds for processing data

We use at least one of the following grounds for processing your personal data:

  •   the execution of an agreement for a financial product or service;
  •   To be able to comply with a legal obligation incumbent on us, for example, to fulfil our legal duty of care during the lifetime of a financial product created through our mediation or to comply with legal time limits for the retention of data;
  •   the explicit consent you have given to process data for specific purposes. You can withdraw this consent at any time;
  •   for the protection of our legitimate interests in the context of our business operations or those of a third party.

In doing so, we always weigh up your interests against ours. Our interests include the careful execution of agreements with you, maintaining and possibly expanding our customer relationship through direct marketing and/or profiling for marketing purposes.

Storage and retention period of personal data

We only store your personal data for as long and as far as we need them. We keep the data we need at least for the duration of our relationship or agreement. If our relationship or agreement ends, we will retain the data for the statutory retention period applicable to us or for as long as we can be held liable on the basis of our advice, if that period is longer than the statutory retention period. Our liability is limited via the Advisory Conditions.

Information, amendment and objection

You have specific rights regarding the processing of your personal data. You (or your family members) can always contact us about this.

This certainly applies to the following topics as well:

if we process your personal data;

  •   the way we process your personal data;
  •   access to the personal data that we process about you;
  •   objections to the processing of your personal data;
  •   Adjustment of your personal data if they have been (possibly) incorrectly processed;

Security of your data

We have taken adequate technical and organisational measures to secure your personal data.

Provision of data to third parties

We do not provide your personal data to others just like that. However, we may do so if you have given us your consent, if we are obliged to do so by law or by a court ruling, or if such disclosure serves the purpose of our processing of personal data.

In order to conduct our business and depending on the services provided to you, we may provide your personal data to the following persons or parties:

  •   financial institutions (such as banks or insurers) with whom we apply for a financial product for you or with whom you have a financial product that we manage for you; or; where we accompany you during the lifetime of the product;

External parties that process personal data under our responsibility do so only for purposes and under conditions that we have agreed with them. This is recorded in written agreements.

We have taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to secure your visit to and use of the website and to prevent misuse of your data. All persons who may take cognisance of your personal data on behalf of our company are obliged to observe secrecy about this.
